The Buick Century Caballero Model 69 is a 4-door hardtop (pillarless) station wagon. The factory produced 4,456 Caballeros in 1958. The 364 cid (6 liter) Buick nailhead V8 with 300 horsepower and a 4-barrel carburetor runs and flows well with its original engine. The Dynaflow automatic transmission works well and shifting is seamless. You can’t feel the shifting between gears, just as it was designed. The car has power steering and brake booster.
This is lovely unrestored rust-free original car with 1 repaint done many years ago.
The Buick Century Caballero Model 69 has 71,036 original miles which corresponds to 113,658 km.
Nice interior with vinyl upholstery on the seats, which I believe was installed when the car was new. I think the original factory upholstery is fine under the seat cover. The door panels are in excellent original condition. The carpet is worn but usable. All the glass is fine. The dashboard is fine, but there is a crack in the padding on the glove compartment flap as shown in one of the pictures.
Original radio
All doors open and close as if they were new. AM’s original radio is still installed in the car. The trunk is in good condition with spare wheel and original jack.
The paint is nice, old but still nice with some flaws.
Chrome is nice, but not new. The rear bumpers are newly chromed.
The small piece of the right side sweepspear panels between the two doors is missing. A new original style battery is fitted.
This car is a great investment. The seller believes it is the only one in Denmark. There are a few in Sweden and Germany, but not many.
The car comes from a large collection that the seller’s friend bought. The current US registration is from Pennsylvania issued in 2001. The car was purchased in Dallas, Texas and imported to Denmark in 2009 and has been stored since. Import duties and VAT are paid for all EU countries.
This is a very special car that drives very well and gets lots of attention. The ’58 Buick is called the “King of Chrome”. It’s said that there are 635 pieces of chrome on the outside of this car, but you’ll have to do the math.
