Austin Healey 3000 MK III

Here you get an Austin Healey 3000 MK III with history. The original owner dies and leaves the car to his brother. The current seller of the car was very close friends with the brother, and when the brother, who in 1970 was named ‘Marine of the year’ by the US Marine Corp after returning from the Viet Nam war, was dying of pneumonia, the current seller agreed to buy the car and bring it home to Denmark in 2020 just before the friend’s death.

The car has not been driven for 6 years before coming to Denmark. It is not known when it last drove before coming to the country. The original owner was an Austin Healey Club enthusiast, and the seller was told that the original owner was the president of the Chicagoland Austin Healey Club.

This is an unrestored and original copy. The car is now rust-free, a small rust repair has been made on the right side of the floor support. This is not a professional repair, but can easily be done properly – see pictures and video of the underside of the car.

Fine but not perfect

This Austin Healey 3000 MK III runs pretty well, despite the fact that it hasn’t been fully serviced and the engine hasn’t been adjusted.
There’s no noise or excessive smoke from the car, and it starts right up and runs.

The clutch master and slave cylinders are new, but the clutch should be adjusted.
The brakes work. The steering feels a little on the tight side, but the suspension feels just as it should.
The battery and fuel pump are also new. However, the gauges and lights work with the exception of the fuel gauge.
The brakes should be inspected.

The car is running on 4 new 185/70HR15 Vredestein tires.

The body is in fantastic condition and with perfectly straight panels, it has been painted on the outside a while ago. The trunk lid has just been re-sprayed.
The car has never been disassembled.

The chrome is in great working condition. The canopy is the original vinyl canopy, which needs to be replaced, but a new high quality blue Hartz fabric (canvas) canopy is included.

The seats are nice, but not new. See images and video.
The carpets are old but in usable condition.

This car comes with the original hood cover. The original scissor jack with original crank and storage bag are included. So does the original lead hammer for removing the wheels. There is a spare wheel with tires.
A complete workshop manual, handbook and some other interesting documents are included.
A customized high-quality car cover is also included.
